What this is, and what it isn't
Is the Reset Bar a deodorant?
No. Deodorants work on the bacteria that feed on sweat. The bar is formulated for 2-nonenal, a compound that forms when your own skin lipids meet oxygen. Different origin, different chemistry, different product. For the underarms we make a deodorant on the same base — and if you use an antiperspirant for wetness, keep it: that is a third thing again.
What is 2-nonenal, in one paragraph?
Your skin makes its own oil. Some of those fats react with oxygen — the same reaction that changes a bottle of olive oil left open on the counter. From around forty there is more of the fat that oxidises easily and less of what used to keep it in check, and the product of that reaction is 2-nonenal. I shower every day. Why isn’t that enough?
Because it is not a cleanliness problem. The skin keeps producing it, so it returns between washes. Washing harder or more often does not change the chemistry — it just dries you out.
Why do I notice it on fabric before I notice it on myself?
Because you stop registering a smell you are constantly surrounded by, while fabric holds it and hands it back concentrated. A collar in the evening or a pillowcase in the morning is how most people find out.

Where, how often, and what to expect
Where do I use the Reset Bar?
Neck, chest, back, under-bust and underarms — the areas where skin lipids concentrate. Lather, leave it a few seconds, rinse. The contact time is doing more work than the scrubbing.
Bar or wash — which should I pick?
Same base, same job. The bar gives more contact time and lasts longer; the 100 ml wash is easier if you find a bar awkward, and travels better. Plenty of people alternate, which is why the Complete Ritual has both.
How long does a bar last?
Roughly four weeks of daily use. The three-bar pack covers about a quarter and works out cheapest per bar.
Does it have a strong scent?
No, by design. A clean, low note from the persimmon and green tea, and very little else. A product that needs a heavy fragrance to do this job is not doing this job — it is covering for it.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
It is formulated for daily use on mature skin, which is drier than the skin these products are usually designed for. Skin still varies: if you are prone to reactions, patch test on the inner arm first and stop if irritation appears.
How soon will I notice something?
Honestly, this is the awkward part of the category: the result is something you mostly cannot smell on yourself. The usual first signal is fabric — a pillowcase or a collar that reads differently after a week or two.

It is a common reason people buy, and the gift box is written to be about a ritual rather than a problem. Nothing on the carton or the card refers to odour.
